Many people run from God before ever knowing Him; but rebellion implies rejecting prior knowledge and relationship because we resent the authority that goes with them. This tendency to rebel is a human trait we all will struggle with at some point.
As teenagers, we rebel against the rules our parents set, only to realize later that our parents knew more than we once thought. Some people, however, never outgrow the habit of rebellion and continue to rebel against leadership of all kinds as adults. In the end, this can lead them to insist that they even know better than God.
The subtitles of this “week” are: I know better than God; I know better than my spiritual leaders; Rebellion of the clergy; Only listening to happy thoughts; and The remedy. Scripture passages are taken from Hebrews, 1 Samuel, Numbers, Malachi, Isaiah, and James.
Many challenging questions are asked, including:
1) In order to conquer the pride of rebellion, is there a relationship in your life that must first be repaired?
2) Are you ever guilty of only wanting the “easy parts” of being a Christian?
3) What do you need to change in order to better follow the lead of your pastor and other church leaders?

Are you ready to take the leap and delve into this study?
