God first showed me where pride existed in my own life when I fell while playing basketball with the youth group. My right wrist was broken and many people at church offered help, which I initially refused, being certain that I could somehow manage. This was a false assumption on my part, and as I humbly admitted my weakness, I realized that I was pushing people away, which is a sign of pride. Once God had opened my eyes to my own pride, I began to see where it existed in others as well. Thus began a seven-year journey of assembling the 12-week small group study on Pride and Humility.
